J A H S O N Ever since I can remember I had a musical influence around me. My parents are both professional musicians so my early days started in a high chair behind the band. They brought me up with music lesson on piano when I was five or six and I studied classical piano for a few years. In 7th grade I started my first band and also started taking saxophone lessons and playing in the school band. Through high school I developed more bands to jam with and started singing for school events and parties. I started recording and teaching piano and voice lessons when I went to C.S.U.N. where I specialized in music education. At first I majored in business at Northridge but then I soon realized that music was my passion and it would be impossible for me to take any other road. I played reggae with my parents in a ten-piece reggae band for a couple years and it was then I realized that I needed to have a group of my own. Urban Dread was born.
